Minova RSA Aqcuires Autorock Drills
On 1 August 2007 Minova RSA, the trading name of Stratabolt (Pty) Ltd, an Orica wholly owned company, acquired the business of Autorock Drills from its shareholders, including the founder, Mr Frank Johnson.
Managing Director of Minova RSA, Pete Ferreira, explains that Autorock developed and has successfully introduced small, manually operated roofbolting in-stope rigs to the South African platinum and gold mines. These rigs have been instrumental in the growth of in-stope rockbolting – especially with the use of resin capsules in the hard-rock mines over the past few years. Minova RSA sees strong synergies between the Autorock drilling technology and its range of rockbolting systems, along with the current Minova products, with the increased use of both products supporting each other.
