Minova Asia Pacific Africa Region

Asia Pacific Africa is one of Minova International’s four global regions with over 800 people working within the region.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, the region has responsibility for operations in South Africa, India and Australia, and accounts for about 15% of global revenues.

The region also includes a fast-growing business in Taiwan and Singapore that services the tunnelling and civil engineering markets in South East Asia and the Pacific.

The commitment to Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E) extends to caring for customers, contractors and people within the organisation.

The businesses enhance the safety and efficiency of coal and hard rock mines as well as tunnels and civil works. Minova APA has the complete range of products and services for strata support and ventilation, and the offer is enhanced through global alliances with FiReP and Atlas Copco.

Minova APA Regional General Manager, Karen Stoffels, says Australia, India and South Africa are all large coal mining nations, and a number of customers have operations in two or more countries.

“We can better serve these customers by having a regional structure and point of contact at this level with Minova.”

Stoffels says the regional organisation also allowed product and service innovations in one country to be more easily transferred to other geographies and markets.

“For example, we have some exciting product innovations coming out of Australia and South Africa in the next six to 12 months.”

“Our customers elsewhere in the APA region will be able to benefit from these more quickly because of our regional approach to managing Minova.”
