New safe development
Resin injection from Minova is a proven system for the consolidation of coal long wall face and ‘T’ junctions in modern mines with the benefits of increasing productivity and improving safety. Some coal seams are known to be prone to spontaneous combustion and in such cases the choice of injection resin system is crucial to maintain safety and prevent any chance of localised heating. For such difficult conditions Minova has developed a new resin, CarboPur LT, which offers all the high performance required of an injection resin but with a much lower and controlled reaction temperature.
Controlled foaming and expansion
CarboPur LT can be formulated to give a foam factor from 1 to 20 times expansion and so can be adjusted to suit individual customers requirements. Another major feature is that CarboPur LT is not effected by any water in the strata and so the expansion or foaming factor is not affected and remains constant. This is important when uncontrolled resin expansion might cause collapse of the coal face.
To make application easy the ratio of CarboPur LT has been maintained at 1:1 so that standard Minova injection pumps and equipment can still be used with this new technology. Standard packers and injection accessories are used and the application process is the same as with any product in the Minova injection chemical range.
