Traditional cable bolting systems used for ground support take significant time to cure and realise full loading capability. This represents valuable time when machinery and resources could be better utilised to advance further or realise additional production.

Minova has developed a unique system which will dramatically reduce the installation time for cable bolts. Cement grouting typically takes 12-24 hours to reach acceptable loading capability.

With Minova’s pumped resin system, mine site trials have demonstrated this curing time is reduced to less than 1 hour for pre-installed cables to achieve a loading of 20te. Potentially, cable bolting could be carried out in-cycle with
enormous benefits in advance rate.

Aside from the large productivity gain, other benefits arise from more consistent in-hole mixing quality associated with resin over that compared to cement grouts. Safety and environmental benefits accrue from removing employees
to potential skin burns from cement material and exposure of fine particle mixtures.
