Minova is the leading supplier of rock support, ground consolidation, water sealing and ventilation products to the mining and civil engineering industries in the United Kingdom.
The company is also well known for the design and manufacture of a range of rock bolting machines, including the Super Turbo Bolter and the Rib Bolter. These are supplied to Minova companies and external customers in mining, tunnelling and civil engineering industries around the world.
The coal industry continues to generate most of company’s sales in the UK, but the civil engineering and tunnelling markets are increasingly important.
UK General Manager, Andy Oxley, says the company’s diversification outside the coal industry has made a significant advance with the recent acquisition of Weldgrip, which imports ground stabilisation products.
“Almost half of Weldgrip’s business is in civil engineering, and provides a strong platform for building this side of our business in the next few years.”
Oxley says Minova in the UK offers an unmatched range of products to the coal mining industry, but the local team is most proud of its commitment to providing technical advice and support direct to customers.
“We have a great deal of experience and technical expertise, with a number of mining engineers among our ranks.
“Our advice and support is available to the customers whenever they need it. Coal mining is 24/7 business and can’t afford to sit idle.
“We will be on the mine site as soon as we get a call, working with the customer to resolve an issue and get them back into production.”
