Minova Weldgrip, UK introduces a new product: NOVOFORM, laminated welded mesh formwork. It is used as a permanent formwork in a variety of applications. The traditionally used temporary materials are removed following the concrete pour. This is no longer the case.

The mesh is encapsulated in film and passed through a heat tunnel to be shrink wrapped. The panels can be supplied in strips or bent into shapes, e.g. a U-shape or L-shape. On site they are filled with steel reinforcement and then concrete.

One significant development to date is the availability of mesh which has articulated joints, which can be supplied flat packed, in a move away from the dependence on “U” shaped panels. This innovation alone allows for significant savings on transport costs. The laminated panels can be produced with varying mesh apertures and wire diameters making them suitable for various applications including: formwork, flood defence, temporary fencing, gabion panels and diaphragms, and tunnel lining coverage for water diversion.
