Supplementary Roof Support System
The Tekcrib roof support system is designed as a viable alternative to conventional supplementary roof support in mine roadways and working zones. It is based upon Minova’s long experience with pump packing support products. Tekcrib is a non-combustible, simple and innovative roof support system using minimal installation time. Cylindrical grout containment bags (Ø 600 mm, 760 mm, or size to suit conditions) are secured to the mine roof and subsequently filled with Tekcrib foamed cementitious grout.
A specially designed Tekplacer grout pump combines the Tekcrib pow-der with air and water at the correct ratios to produce the cementitious foam. The foam is typically pumped a distance of 300 m but much longer distances are possible. The mix begins to gel within minutes of entering the containment bag and cures to a final strength, typically from 3 - 6 MPa depending on site requirements.
